At-Risk Student Identification, Review, and Funding Impact

The PEIMS AT-RISK-INDICATOR-CODE indicates whether a student is currently identified as at-risk of dropping out of school using state-defined criteria only (TEC ยง29.081, Compensatory and Accelerated Instruction). Missing or inappropriate identification could impact funding and services being provided to students who need those additional supports. This session will review indicators, how/when to review them, and funding impact.

Objectives:

1. Develop a timeline for student at-risk indicator review.
2. Establish a process and procedure that includes the identification of responsible persons.

Beyond Boundary Planning: Using Location Analytics

Beyond Boundary Planning: Using Location Analytics
Using location analytics to improve funding, student support, and employee recruitment and retention. Understanding locations in your district where extra services, such as tutoring, test prep or other wrap around programs, may need to be added to ensure every child is receiving equitable resources is crucially important. While it is preferred to educate students during school hours, while they’re on campus, sometimes the learning must leave the building. The important question leaders must ask, and geospatial analytics can help answer, is, 'Where?'. This webinar will share how districts can leverage the power of location analytics to better serve their students and staff.

Having processes in place during the year helps to keep the summer submission of the data cleaner. What to Consider Before Moving to Four-Day School Weeks

Several districts around the state have begun implementing some form of a 4-day school week, and others appear to be considering the move. Many considerations must be weighed, from the impact on the district’s state funding, staff work calendars and compensation, the potential for legislative changes, and most importantly, the impact on the students, families, and community members. Examine some of the more critical implications, including federal and state compliance, services for students with special needs, required instructional days and minutes for state funding, and programs such as CTE. The goal is to have you leave with a solid roadmap allowing your district to carefully deliberate the pros and cons of successfully implementing whatever calendar they choose.
