Membership Levels

Active Member

$135 Annually

Active membership is open to any employee of K-12 schools and employees of governmental entities. These memberships can be transferred should there be a staff change.

Active members have voting rights

Associate Member

$250 Annually

Associate memberships are available to employees of vendors and not-for-profit organizations.

These members may participate in TASBO activities, but they have no voting privileges and are not eligible to hold office in TASBO.

Retired Member

$45 Annually

Retired membership is available to those TASBO members who have retired from school employment but do not meet the requirements for Life Membership or Associate membership.

Retired members shall be voting members.

Student Member

$90 Annually

Student membership shall be non-voting and is open to those enrolled in a college or university and are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the field of business and/or education who are not eligible for membership in any of the other categories.

*Registration Form above is for adding Professional Liability Insurance to an existing membership. A member can add insurance at any time throughout the year and begins the day TASBO processes the payment through the end of the current membership.

What the Policy Covers:
Purchased at the time of membership join or renewal, your policy coverage runs concurrent with your present TASBO membership term for as long as the program is in effect. The Insured is defined in the policy as an active, life, or retired member of the Association who is an employee of a public or charter school district, ESCs, Dallas Co. Schools, Harris Co. Dept. of Educ., school district and ESC operated Cooperatives, or public community colleges. Coverage is provided for the member in his/her capacity as an administrator or educator. The policy specifically excludes private contracts or endeavors. Coverage is available for a $45 fee. 

This policy could provide coverage for the following situations:
❖ Failure to report financial information to school district and/or board
❖ Inaccurate financial reporting
❖ Misappropriation of school district funds
❖ Inappropriate employee relationships
❖ Employment rights concerns involving dismissal, contract nonrenewal, and assignment

Life Member


Life Membership is open to members who have been approved for this honorary membership by the Board of Directors based on criteria set out in Board policy. Life Members do not pay membership dues.

Members are encouraged to nominate their peers for a TASBO Life Membership upon retirement from school business. Outstanding Service for Life Membership nominees will be determined by reviewing the nominee’s commitment, contribution, and involvement in TASBO.

To be considered for a TASBO Life Membership, the applicant must meet the requirements specified in board policy AND TASBO must receive a letter from a school administrator from the nominee’s school district, detailing their contribution to the school district. The Board may also consider an Honorary Life Membership for an individual's exceptional contribution to the education profession. Rights of Membership


The right to vote and hold office shall be limited to active members whose dues are paid for the current year, life and retired members. The right to have a voice in the discussion at meetings of this association shall be limited to members.
