This course covers all aspects of leaves and absences, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), workers’ compensation, Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA), and state and local leave programs. Attendees will come away with an understanding of the legal requirements related to leaves, absences, temporary disability leave, and FMLA, the difference between mandated state leave programs and local leave programs, how workers’ compensation relates to the district’s leave programs, and how to manage leave and absence programs.
This PER/PAY205 Leaves and Absences course will be in-person only. A test will be given for those taking the course for TASBO certification credit. Course materials, including the final exam, will be accessed online. Attendees should bring a device to the training to access the course materials.
