Budget Fundamentals for Campus Principals - Online

Budget Fundamentals for Campus Principals is designed for principals who have been in their position for less than two years or who need a refresher on the budget development process. This year’s agenda includes two 3-hour sessions covering the following topics:

  • Budgeting Essentials for Campus Principals (November 12, 2025)
In addition to serving as the instructional leader of a campus, every campus principal is responsible for managing the campus budget. The Budgeting Essentials for Campus Principals Workshop will provide the knowledge needed for state mandated account codes and business practices in the areas of activity funds, cash management and purchasing that are subject to audit on an annual basis.

  • Budget Development for Campus Principals (January 14, 2026)
Campus principals play an essential role in identifying students eligible to be served in special programs such gifted and talented, special education, bilingual, etc. Developing a budget for these programs includes identifying the necessary teaching staff and allocating for supplies and services to support the needs of the students. Additionally, this workshop will examine strategies and best practices to ensure compliance with state laws related to the programs.

Participants will gain access to both trainings, a moderated online community and recordings of each session.
