During the first year of implementing the new Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA), we learned about specific requirements related to compensation for teachers (Role ID 087). As we prepare for the second year of the TRA implementation, LEAs should ensure that all district staff are properly coded and reported in PEIMS to avoid loss of state funding. The Fall 2026 PEIMS Staff Data, specifically the coding of the teacher's years of experience, TRA eligibility, staff classification, and teaching schedule including classroom minutes, will be used to fund the TRA. Attend this webinar to ensure that your LEA stakeholders, such as PEIMS, HR, Payroll, and Finance staff, are fully aware of the definition of a teacher, how creditable years of experience are earned, and how to report wages through PEIMS using the correct payroll activity codes.
